The anticipation surrounding Tesla’s entry into the Malaysian market was evident as queues formed as early as 7 a.m. at the interview venue, Cyberview Sdn Bhd in Cyberjaya.
Tesla Malaysia’s walk-in recruitment
The American electric vehicle(EV) manufacturer, has initiated a walk-in interview in Malaysia, attracting approximately 3000 applicants for five positions.

Izzat Sofiya, the Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing of Tesla Malaysia, revealed that the influx of candidates began at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and by 11 a.m., over 2,000 people were already patiently waiting in line.
Despite the recruitment activities scheduled to commence at 12 p.m., the crowd had already stretched onto the main street by 10:30 a.m., with a continuous stream of eager applicants.
Tesla Malaysia’s open hiring campaign targeted five positions including:
- Sales Advisor/Internal Sales Advisor
- Corporate Sales Advisor, Delivery Advisor
- Customer Service Representative
- After-Sales Service Advisor.
According to Tesla’s official website, the company is also recruiting for several other positions in Malaysia, including:
- Supplier Industrialization Engineer – Purchasing
- Office Administrator
- Senior HR Partner
- Parts Advisor
- Vehicle Technician
- Service Manager
In March of this year, the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) announced Tesla’s plan to establish a presence in Malaysia and develop a network of charging stations for their vehicles. Subsequently, the government also announced the approval for the importation of Tesla’s Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV).
The overwhelming response to Tesla’s recruitment drive showcases the enthusiasm and excitement surrounding the company’s expansion into Malaysia’s automotive market.
