After a lifetime filled with love and companionship, an affectionate elderly couple, who had spent more than fifty years together, departed from this world on the same day, with a gap of twelve hours between their passings.
Malaysian couple passes away on the same day
Mr. Wong Sin Fatt (transliteration), aged 102, peacefully departed from this world on the morning of the 11th of this month at his home.
His wife, Ms. Yee Rui Bao(transliteration), aged 94, who had been hospitalized due to health issues, also peacefully bid farewell to this world on the same day, around 6 p.m., upon learning of her husband’s passing.
Mr. Wong Sin Fatt and his wife resided in Petaling Jaya during their lifetime. They were a loving couple and had five sons and one daughter. Their family has entered the fourth generation, with nearly 50 descendants.
Following traditional customs, the family recently held a cheerful mourning ceremony for the couple, allowing them to embark on their journey to the afterlife.
Family gives a jovial sendoff
The wake for Mr. Wong Sin Fatt and Ms. Yee Rui Bao was held at 10 a.m. yesterday(14 June) Dozens of descendants, dressed in red attire, bid farewell to the elderly couple.
The couple’s remains were laid to rest at the Bukit Gasing Memorial Park.
During the interview, Wong’s second daughter-in-law, Ms. Chang (transliteration), and third daughter-in-law, Ms. Wu (transliteration), mentioned that their mother-in-law had been hospitalized for treatment due to illness a week ago.
“Upon hearing of her husband’s passing, tears welled up in her eyes, and she too left this world on the same day,” the said in an interview with Sin Chew Daily.
They mentioned that their father-in-law and mother-in-law had been married for over 80 years, and their love for each other was remarkable. The couple was inseparable, accompanying each other wherever they went, and supporting one another along the way.
