# 80% Of Batang Kali Landslide Site Has Been Searched, 9 More Victims Still Missing

After searching for almost 4 days, 80% of the landslide site area at the Batang Kali campsite has been searched.

## 80% of Batang Kali lanslide has been search

Selangor Fire and Rescue Director Datuk Norazam Khamis said the rescue team has searched 80% of the landslide site but hasn't found the whereabouts of the 9 missing victims, reported [China Press](https://www.chinapress.com.my/20221219/%e2%97%a4%e5%b3%87%e5%86%ac%e5%8a%a0%e9%87%8c%e9%9c%b2%e8%90%a5%e5%9c%b0%e5%9c%9f%e5%b4%a9%e2%97%a2-80%e7%81%be%e5%8c%ba%e8%8c%83%e5%9b%b4%e5%b7%b2%e7%bf%bb%e6%89%be-%e6%9c%aa%e8%a7%819%e5%a4%b1/).

The search for the remaining nine victims resumed on Monday morning after rain stopped the operations the previous day.

> **"Due to the rain last night, the soil was soft, making it more difficult for rescuers to continue their search and rescue mission."**

**"Besides, the rain also caused the soil structure to become moist and weak."**

**"Although there is only 20% of the search area left, the safety of search and rescue personnel must still be considered.**"
