People at self-service laundromats often flake on their laundry, leaving it unattended for way too long, causing annoyance and chaos for fellow laundry-doers.
As being said, a Malaysian recently faced a similar situation where a laundromat user left their clothes unattended in a self-service washing machine for over 30 minutes after the spin cycle had finished.
M’sian frustrated by unattended clothes at a laundromat
In a recent post within the Meru Klang Residents Official Facebook group, a frustrated user shared his encounter with an inconsiderate fellow laundromat user.
According to the user, the incident took place at a laundromat near a supermarket in Meru, Klang, on Monday (Oct 30) between 12 pm and 1 pm.
The user elaborated on the inconvenience caused by the individual who failed to retrieve their laundry for over half an hour after its cycle had finished.
Furthermore, he questioned whether the act of purchasing a laundry token implied the acquisition of others’ time, underscoring the need for the user to be more considerate and attentive.
In a plea for greater consideration and attentiveness, the user mentioned in his post by saying, ‘If you happen to read this, please take a moment to reflect on your actions.’
Netizens have varying opinions on this issue
Netizens have mixed views, with some suggesting the clothes could have been simply taken out since the user had a DIY bag in front of the machine without the need for chaos, while others are calling out the user’s irresponsibility.
“You can just take it out if there is a basket. In life, we should help each other.”
“It’s not that difficult to pick up those clothes and put them in the DIY plastic bag. It’s easy, maybe the owner is facing some difficulties.
“If you’re using the laundromat, wait until you’re done collecting your clothes. It’s alright if you’re a little late, but if you leave for more than 10 minutes, it’s over. Others also want the washing machine.
“Even at the laundromat, one can act this way. One can only wonder how they behave at home. It’s something to think about.”
