A group of 20 MYAirline employees, backed by the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC), have lodged a police report against the airline for failing to pay their salaries for two consecutive months.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the report was filed at the Subang Jaya police headquarters.
The MTUC’s General Secretary, Kamarul Baharin Mansor, expressed the employees’ dissatisfaction with MYAirline’s sudden decision to cease operations without prior notice.

He highlighted that the company failed to provide any explanation to its staff after the shutdown.
“It’s evident that MYAirline’s abrupt halt in operations was not transparent and lacked professionalism. Such a sudden decision has severe implications for both the employees and the public,” Kamarul stated.
900 MYAirline staff affected
Kamarul further emphasized that MYAirline’s actions have affected at least 900 of its employees, Kosmo! reported.

He urged the government to intervene and address the issue.
One of the affected employees, Abdul Sharan, shared the hardships faced by many of his colleagues due to the unpaid salaries.
“Several employees are grappling with severe financial difficulties. Some have even been evicted from their homes because they couldn’t afford the rent,” he told the Chinese daily.
‘Immense stress’
Abdul Sharan added that the uncertainty surrounding their employment status and unpaid wages has placed immense stress on them, especially those with families to support.

He recounted his previous employment with another airline, which he left for MYAirline due to a better salary offer.
However, he now finds himself in a challenging situation. “Whenever we inquire about our salaries, the management’s consistent response is ‘please wait a little longer.’ But how long is that? A year? Two years? They should at least provide us with a timeline,” he expressed.
