KUALA TERENGGANU – A family were left reeling with shock and immense sorrow after losing two family members within a span of 10 hours
37-year-old Mohd Azizi was killed after his car suddenly burst into flames while his father lost the battle against asthma, reported Sin Chew Daily.
It is believed that Mohd Azizi was transporting four oxygen tanks while following the ambulance that was carrying his ailing father back home prior to the accident.
His mother said that her husband had been suffering from asthma for three years and passed away at 5 am yesterday (Nov 21).
“Two weeks ago, his condition began to deteriorate and my son insisted on caring for him at home.
“We never thought that he would leave this world along with his father,” she said.
Both victims were later buried together at the same cemetery in the afternoon.
Relative: ‘Keep your assumptions to yourself’
In response to online rumors that Mohd Azizi had attempted suicide with the oxygen tanks, a relative named Khairul has urged netizens not to speculate on the incident.
“Certain irresponsible parties have painted this tragedy as a suicide attempt, which is far from the truth and had added on to the family’s grief.
“I urge everyone to not disseminate sensitive photos about the accident and to leave it to the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation,” he said.
