163-Storey Burj Khalifa Displays The Jalur Gemilang To Celebrate Malaysia’s National Day

In conjunction with Malaysia’s Independence Day, the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa lit up in the Jalur Gemilang to join in the festivities.

In a post by the Burj Khalifa’s official Facebook page, it included a 49-second clip showing the Jalur Gemilang being lit up around the building along with a caption wishing Malaysia a bright future:

Tonight we light up #BurjKhalifa in celebration of Malaysia’s National Day, wishing them further growth and stability.

#BurjKahlifa celebrates Malaysia’s National Day and wishes the people of Malaysia prosperity and happiness.

The post has since received over 5.8k likes and 1.2k shares at press time.

Senior Minister of Defence Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and the Department Of Home Affairs have also thanked Dubai for the kind gesture.

Istana Malaysia: ‘This is an honour for Malaysia’

The official Instagram account of Istana Negara later posted a similar clip, where it showed the national anthem Negaraku being played in the background during the light show.

“Burj Khalifa, one of the landmark buildings in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was illuminated with the Jalur Gemilang yesterday in conjunction with the 65th National Day celebration. The national anthem, Negaraku, also echoed. This is an honour for Malaysia.”
