Sparks controversies following Crazy Horse’s appearance

Lisa’s appearance at the Crazy Horse show from September 28 to 30, known for its bold and sensual performances, sparked intense debate among Chinese netizens.

Many criticized her for participating in what they deemed an erotic performance, which they felt could negatively influence underage fans, calling for a comprehensive ban.

Lisa’s Weibo account banned

On November 1, Chinese officials responded to the incident by banning Lisa’s Weibo account, which had over 8 million followers, effectively resetting her online presence.

The account was reported for violating legal and community regulations and is no longer accessible.

Screenshots circulating online suggest that all of Lisa’s related works, albums, and merchandise are now forbidden from being distributed or promoted in China.

Additionally, it appears that some luxury brands for which Lisa is a global ambassador, have also removed her from their official Weibo accounts, making it difficult to find any related information about her.

Despite the ban in China, Lisa’s international promotions continue unaffected, but her market presence in China has been completely cut off.

The incident has also sparked discussions among Korean netizens, with many expressing negative sentiments, suggesting that Lisa’s decision to participate in the show was self-inflicted.

The situation has also affected other celebrities like Angelababy and Zhang Jiani, whose social media accounts have been silenced, possibly indicating a temporary ‘soft ban’ by Chinese authorities for attending Lisa’s crazy horse performance.

This development reflects the strict regulations within China’s entertainment industry, which prohibit performers from engaging in activities related to obscenity, gambling, drugs, violence, terror, or criminal forces. Those who violate these standards face varying degrees of industry-wide sanctions.
