Thailand is set to enter its cold season in the third week of October, slightly later than usual, and it is expected to last until mid-February 2025.
The Thai Meteorological Department released its 2024 cold season weather forecast on 2 October, as reported by Nation Thailand .
According to the forecast, the northern, northeastern, central, and eastern regions of Thailand will experience average minimum temperatures of 20-21°C, approximately one degree higher than previous years.
The coldest temperatures, around 6-8°C, are expected primarily in the upper northern and northeastern regions.
In Bangkok, the lowest temperatures are anticipated to be around 16-17°C, while surrounding areas may experience temperatures between 14-16°C.
This cooler period is likely to occur from December 2024 to January 2025.
Meanwhile, parts of southern Thailand will experience cooler weather but are expected to continue receiving rainfall.
From November to December, the eastern coastal regions may face heavy to torrential rain, with waves in the Gulf of Thailand reaching heights of 4-5 meters.
