Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has been busy in his new job since last Thursday’s (November 24) swearing-in ceremony. He has hosted several press conferences to reveal his plans for the future.
One of these is to ensure that every ringgit in public funds is wisely used and urge new cabinet members to avoid wastage.
Anwar: Will use any car available in the office
He also took to his social media and shared that he refused to use a Mercedes S600 purchased and obtained by the Prime Minister’s Department (PMO) before he entered the office.
“The step was taken because I did not want any new expenses to be made on me.Instead, I have decided to use whatever vehicles are available in the office for daily use.
He also shared that this is a message to the leaders of other ministries and departments to remind them that they need to start a new culture under the current situation.

Leading by example, PM
The post was well-received by many netizens, with some saying that it was a relief to know that this nation is in good hands now.
One also thanked PM for walking his talk and leading by example.
On the flip side, some also suggested PM Anwar use it as PMO had already purchased it.
“Lead by example for not wasting any profit for himself but for the country’s development […] This is the government that we are voting for.”
