A 70-year-old retired Malaysian from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan has won a whopping 17 million Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) jackpot with a single bet in the 6/58 Lotto on 16 April.
Favourite numbers are 9 and 31
The winner, who prefers to remain anonymous, revealed that luck played a significant role in his win, but two favorite numbers, 9 and 31, were always a part of his chosen combination.

The lucky winner stated that while he chose random combinations, he made sure to include his favorite numbers, 9 and 31, in every bet.
“When I play the lotto game, I always change my number combinations from time to time. In the end, I was fortunate enough to win the jackpot with the combination of 9, 31, 35, 42, 43, and 48,” he said.
He further explained that he didn’t have any winning strategies, as the numbers, except for 9 and 31, were chosen randomly.
Hits jackpot with just a RM4 bet
“I enjoy playing games that involve combining numbers; the lotto game is like my sudoku game,” he said.
The winner placed bets on the winning combination during the draw dates of 16th April and 19th.
Eventually, he hit the jackpot on the first draw date, taking home a massive prize of MYR 16,977,454.45 with an investment of only RM4.
The fortunate retiree plans to share the winnings with his family and use the money for investment purposes.
