No plea was also recorded from Lau as she was unable to contain her emotions when the charge was read out to her before Magistrate Norzaliza Tesmin.

I don’t want to be charged under that Section…the truth is not like that…I shouldn’t be charged under that Section!

She was also seen screaming hysterically at reporters gathered outside the courtroom as she was led inside by two policewomen.

“I didn’t kill anyone! Remember my face and remember my words. I didn’t kill anyone! I am the victim!”

She also accused the police of unfair prosecution and their insistence to charge her under Section 302.

Request denied by court

“They want to investigate me according to Section (302), which is not fair to me… The officer refused to investigate under another section,” she shouted.

Lau’s lawyer, Ng Kian Nam had requested the court to send her for a psychiatric evaluation and be granted bail, both of which were flatly denied.
