Escaped using a hospital staff’s motorcycle
Hulu Terengganu district police chief Supt. Mohd Adli Mat Daud said that preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was being treated for Covid-19 at the hospital prior to the tragedy.
He was later seen coming out from the premises on a Honda C100 motorcycle belonging to one of the staff which was parked near the hospital’s surau.
He added that the victim was heading towards Pekan Wakaf Tapai in the wrong direction and crashed into the road divider at the Bukit Perpat junction.
“As a result of the impact, the victim died at the scene and his body has been sent to the HHT Forensic Unit for an autopsy,” he said.
The case is now being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
