M’sian Woman Asks For RM600 From Stranger To Fund Langkawi Holiday After Husband Insists On Going

The netizen questioned why someone would choose to go on a holiday if they could not afford it.
A woman has left netizens baffled after she allegedly contacted a complete stranger to ask for RM600 so she could go on a holiday to Langkawi with her husband.

Screenshots of the conversation were shared on Threads by the recipient, who said she had received similar messages from strangers several times before.

Said husband kept insisting on the trip

According to the screenshot, the sender began the message by asking for help, explaining that her husband had invited her to travel to Langkawi the following week.

However, she claimed she did not have enough money for the trip.

She also alleged that her husband kept insisting that she join him despite her financial situation.

The sender then asked to borrow RM600, promising to repay the recipient RM700 the following month.

She claimed that her husband had already purchased the tickets, leaving her with little choice but to seek a loan.

Offered MyKad details as guarantee

To convince the stranger that she would repay the money, the sender allegedly offered to provide her MyKad details as a form of guarantee.

However, the recipient wasn’t persuaded and eventually blocked the sender.

In her post, she expressed frustration over receiving repeated requests for money from people she did not know.

She also questioned why someone would choose to go on a holiday if they could not afford it, adding that she herself brought packed food to work to save money.

The recipient also suspected that the message could have been part of a scam.

Netizens not convinced

The screenshots quickly attracted reactions from other Threads users, with some claiming that they had received similar messages from unknown individuals.

Others questioned why the sender was asking a stranger for financial help instead of discussing the expenses with her husband.

One netizen said that if the couple wanted to travel, the husband should be responsible for covering the costs instead of expecting a stranger to provide the money.
