A substantial pay raise of up to 42.7% is anticipated for civil servants in the ‘implementing group’ under the revised Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), announced by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi Fadzil shared that the guidelines for this salary adjustment are set to be released soon.

By next week, we will have a clearer picture of the salary increases, which are projected to range from 15% to 42.7%,” he reportedly said.
The largest increases will benefit lower-grade civil servants, whereas higher-ranking officials such as chief secretaries and director-generals will see more modest adjustments.

According to The Star, these remarks were made during a press conference following the post-cabinet meeting on Wednesday (Aug 7).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim indicated on Tuesday (Aug 6) that preliminary details of the revised SSPA would be announced shortly, with a full disclosure expected when Budget 2025 is presented in October 2024.
