A startling scene involving a food delivery rider unleashing his rage on his own motorcycle has recently gone viral.
The incident occurred in a designated delivery rider’s parking area outside a mall in Puchong, and saw the man violently damaging his vehicle, which had fallen to its side.
Assistant Commissioner A. A. Anbalagan of the Serdang police confirmed the incident, which unfolded around 3:10 pm on September 11th.
Defaulted on payment amounting to 34 months
According to Anbalagan, the rider had defaulted on payments for his motorcycle for almost three years, amounting to 34 months of unpaid debts, ultimately leading to the confiscation of his vehicle by a repossession agent.
But before the agent could carry out the repossession, the enraged man took to brutally kicking his motorcycle, causing pieces of it to break off.
A report on the incident and the resulting damage was later filed by the repossession agent at the Brickfields police station on the same day.
As the video circulates online, it has evoked a spectrum of reactions from netizens, many of whom recognized the desperate plight of the individual while also understanding the necessity of repossession given the significant period of non-payment.
Despite understanding his frustrating situation, several individuals denounced the rider’s destructive outburst, criticizing the violent manner in which he expressed his anger.
“He is disappointed that he had to pay for the motorcycle every month.”
“What shoes is he wearing? Looks like it can be a safety shoe,” another wrote.
There is also a thread of optimistic speculation among the online community, with some holding hope that a generous samaritan or influencer might emerge to offer assistance, possibly in the form of a new motorcycle, to the distressed rider.
