Throughout the pandemic, food delivery riders have become a saviour for many Malaysians, particularly for those who do not have time to cook meals on their own.
However, aside from fulfilling orders, they have also taken upon another role outside of their job scope that keeping senior citizens safe on the road.

Recently, a video of two delivery riders from rival companies working together in helping a senior citizen cross a busy intersection has made rounds on the Internet.

In a TikTok video by @nurilfarhanahibrahim, a woman in her 60s was seen walking slowly across the intersection, catching the attention by delivery riders.

They then slowed down their motorcycles and escorted the woman by blocking oncoming vehicles from coming her way.

After ensuring that the woman had safely crossed the intersection, the delivery riders nodded at each other and went on their way.

‘Proud to be a Malaysian’
The video quickly garnered over 100k views at the time of writing, with many praising the delivery riders for their kind gesture.
One wrote that most delivery riders would always help people despite their intimidating demeanor.

Another wrote: “Rakyat jaga rakyat…terbaik. (The people taking care of each other…best!)”

Another netizen said that this made him proud to be a Malaysian.

Another added that the delivery riders had proven that harmony does exist in the country.
