Man With SG-Registered Car Plate Caught Pumping RON95 At KL Petrol Station

Caught in broad daylight.
There has been no shortage of videos showing owners of Singapore-registered vehicles pumping RON95 being shared online despite the hefty punishments that await them if caught.

In yet another similar case, a man driving a Singapore-registered car was caught on film refueling with the subsidised petrol without any qualms at a Petronas petrol station recently.

After refueling his car, the man placed the nozzle back into the pump booth and walked towards the convenience store.

In the background, the cameraperson could be heard asking his companion, “Uncle, are you angry?” in Malay, to which the latter responded with “No, no, this is Petronas.”

He then proceeded to divulge that the petrol station was located along Jalan Damansara within the KL area.

An in-text caption with the phrase ‘panjang tangan’ was also seen in the video, which is a Malay idiom to describe someone who has a penchant for theft.

Netizens outraged

Needless to say, the clip triggered a wave of anger from Malaysians, who were upset to see subsidised petrol being siphoned by others.

‘Claims to be a rich and modern country…but steals subsidised petrol from another country. His face looks like he came from a poor country.’

‘Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), please take action against the petrol station…or might as well sleep (on the job).’

One lamented over the lack of enforcement of the law by the authorities, adding that even a small country like Brunei could do so but not Malaysia.

Another slammed the cameraperson and called him a ‘coward’ for not confronting the man and rebuking him for pumping RON95 petrol.
