A dispute erupted over a Singapore-registered vehicle being filled with RON95 fuel, a matter brought to public attention through a video posted on the SG Road Vigilante – SGRV Facebook page.
This incident reportedly occurred on Monday (5 Feb).
The video commences with the original poster (OP) approaching a vehicle at the fuel pump.
Upon noticing the Singaporean license plate on the car being filled with RON95 petrol, the OP engages in a conversation, querying if the individuals are from Singapore.
As the dialogue unfolds, a man, initially approached, is joined by a female companion in responding to the OP’s inquiries.
“Saya orang Malaysia mah”
Despite the OP’s insistence on the prohibition against Singapore-registered vehicles refueling with RON95, due to it being a subsidy intended for Malaysians, the woman defends her actions by asserting her Malaysian identity.
“Why are you using RON95 with a Singaporean number plate?” the OP asked.
Undeterred, the OP escalates the matter, expressing his objection to what he perceives as an unjust act against Malaysians by utilizing subsidies not meant for foreign vehicles.
He firmly requests them to cease their actions, emphasizing the respect owed to his country’s policies.
The situation intensifies as the OP decides to report the incident to a petrol station attendant, explaining the pair’s attempt to benefit from Malaysian-subsidized petrol.
Throughout the exchange, the woman maintains her stance, questioning the OP’s need to film their altercation.
Netizens praised the M’sian
The video became popular on Facebook, with many people praising the person who confronted the two for doing the right thing.
