The iPhone 16 series, which was launched today, has already hit the resale market at inflated prices. Just 20 minutes after its release, listings on e-commerce platforms and social media showed the devices being resold for as high as RM6,600.
On Facebook, marked-up prices of around RM300 to RM400 were commonly seen.
Meanwhile, on Carousell, the iPhone 16 Pro 256GB is listed for RM5,890—nearly RM400 more than the official retail price.
A check by WeirdKaya revealed that the same iPhone 16 Pro 256GB model is still in stock and can be picked up at Apple Store TRX as early as tomorrow (21 Sep).
For the iPhone 16 Pro Max series, the 256GB version is being resold on Carousell for RM6,600, which is RM600 higher than the original price.
According to Apple Malaysia’s website, the iPhone 16 Pro Max series is currently out of stock and is only available for delivery in 3 to 4 weeks.
Interestingly, Lazada is offering a discounted price for the iPhone 16 Pro Max series, with up to RM150 off the official price, providing buyers with a slight relief amidst the reselling frenzy.
