AMPANG – A daycare manager who allegedly abused an autistic boy who refused to eat at a daycare centre here last Friday (Oct 1) has been arrested.
This comes after the autistic boy’s father found red marks on the left side of his forehead and eyes when he came to pick him up.
When he confronted the staff, they told him that his son had accidentally hit his head against the table.
However, the boy’s father demanded to see the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and saw the daycare manager acting violently when his son refused to eat his meal.

Suspect nabbed, investigation ongoing
Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the daycare manager was nabbed at around 1.50 pm on Sunday (Oct 3), Bernama reported.
It is understood that the 51-year-old daycare manager had three local workers, who were also at the scene.
Farouk added that the incident is believed to have happened between 8:45 am and 12:45 pm.
What’s more surprising was that investigations revealed the centre had been operating for seven years with an expired license.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect and Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act 1952 for overstaying and having an expired social pass.
