This most profitable mobile game in the world is celebrating its fifth anniversary as it faces challenges from the mobile version of the world’s most popular desktop game, “League of Legends”.

“League of Legends: Wild Rift”, a game designed by a sub-company of Tencent and Riot Games Studio from the USA, is currently doing a test run in Asia.

Tencent said it is going to launch two new unnamed spin-offs, expanding the “Honor of Kings” from a multiplayer online battle game to two other types of games, which they did not specify the details.

“Honor of Kings” is a multiplayer role-playing game that allows players to enter the battlefield. TIMI Studio said on Sunday that it also introduced the officially authorized Bruce Lee outfit into the game.

“Honor of Kings” is by far the most successful game Tencent has created. Tencent, China’s major video games and social media company, believes the game is a perfect channel to develop E-sports, which is currently mainstream in China, as more young and wealthy Chinese are willing to spend money on them.

According to Sensor Tower, a mobile APP data analysis company, excluding third-party Android stores, the user expenses of “Honor of Kings” is almost $240 million, making it the world’s best-selling mobile game in September 2020. This number has increased by 87% since September 2019.
