25yo M’sian Graduate Who Suffered Bone Cancer Passes Away Days After Receiving His Scroll

Abdul Rahman Muhamad Rashidi, a 25-year-old university graduate, could not attend his convocation due to his severe battle with bone cancer.

According to Astro Awani, his father, embodying strength and love, stood in to collect his scroll during the convocation ceremony.

Diagnosed with cancer in 2021

According to his TikTok account, his journey began with an unexpected diagnosis in May 2021, when prolonged knee pain led to the discovery of a tumorous growth.

Despite undergoing a leg amputation and using a prosthetic leg to aid in mobility, his condition deteriorated.

Even with these efforts, including the adoption of a prosthetic leg to aid his mobility, Abdul Rahman’s condition steadily worsened.

He faced an uphill battle, becoming paralyzed from the waist down and increasingly reliant on an oxygen concentrator for breathing.

Graduated with honors

Despite the enormous physical and emotional challenges, he graduated with honors in Business Mathematics, achieving a remarkable CGPA of 3.62.

His academic prowess and resilience caught the attention of the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, who personally visited him, offering support and acknowledging his exceptional achievements.
