Wei Yu was the fourth of five sons of Chan Guang Ming (Transliteration), a 56-year-old coach of the state basketball team.

Chan’s father shared that his son collapsed during the warm-up for a friendly match on July 3.

According to Oriental Daily, doctors diagnosed him with a ruptured brain vessel, possibly caused by a congenital arteriovenous malformation, which led to a brain hemorrhage.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Chan’s father believes that his obedient and loving son will continue to accompany his family and friends in another world.
