For most states in Malaysia, there are plenty of cinemas for moviegoers to catch their favorite film or actor on the big screen.
For one woman however, she had to take the extra mile of flying all the to Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, from Kota Bahru, Kelantan just to watch a locally-produced film. Say what?!
Woman flies to Nilai as Kelantan has no cinemas
In a TikTok clip shared by @tuansyieka, she documented her entire journey from Kelantan to Negri Sembilan in order to watch the wildly popular film Sheriff: Narko Integriti, which has since garnered a whopping RM16.3 million at the box office in just four days.
First, she booked a flight from Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kota Bharu to KLIA before travelling to Nilai by car.
Upon reaching at Nilai, she and her friends headed to a cinema hall at MesaMall, where they successfully bought tickets to watch the film.
In the caption, the OP proudly wrote:
Traveled from Kelantan to Nilai just for ‘Sheriff’. No problem bruh. No cinema in town? No problem—as long as you’ve got the cash.”
Netizens shocked by revelation
In the comment section, netizens were taken by surprise upon learning that Kelantan was completely devoid of cinemas, thus forcing people like the OP to travel to other states to watch movies.
The OP also revealed that Kelantanese folks normally head to Terengganu for movies. However, if they are from Pengkalan Chepa, then Nilai would be much closer.
Others simply couldn’t believe the lengths the OP would go just to catch her favorite film at the cinema.
