A unique concept store named ‘KEXFC‘ in Kuala Lumpur, closely resembling the famous fast-food chain KFC, has become a hot topic among netizens.
The creator of this home-based replica, identified as Boss Shukex, however, explained that ‘KEXFC’ is a personal project and not yet a commercial venture.

Shukex explained on his Facebook page that the market-ready version of ‘KEXFC’ would undergo some modifications, incorporating his name ‘Kex’ and the term ‘FC’ for ‘Fun Club’.
The homemade KEXFC’s logo is strikingly similar to the original KFC’s Colonel Sanders, with minor differences such as the absence of glasses and a less welcoming facial expression.

In a video, Shukex has also replicated another brand, ‘Cafe Amazon’, naming his version ‘Cafe Amanda’.

“These creations are not for selling food to the public but are crafted out of passion, serving as a private space for entertaining friends and family only, he explained in the video,” he said.
Furthermore, Shukex has installed a vending machine at home and disclosed plans to mimic the 7-Eleven convenience store chain, humorously renaming it ‘7-ANAK’ (meaning ‘7 Children’).

Mixed reactions from netizens
Netizen reactions are mixed, with some supporting Suks’s initiative to create a local fried chicken brand, while others have reportedly contacted the real KFC for potential legal actions.

However, there are concerns about the viability of Suks’s defense in case of a legal challenge from the original brands.

One also sarcastically wrote: “They are not the same, the size of the chicken at KEXFC is bigger than the actual one.”
