Zoe Gabriel, the 17-year-old who found fame after being ridiculed for calling her Charles & Keith bag a “luxury” item, has now teamed up with budget airline AirAsia for a series of TikTok videos.
This came after Zoe’s viral moment led to her being noticed by Charles & Keith, who featured her as a model in their March International Women’s Day campaign. Turning online fame into real-world opportunities, Zoe quickly became a recognizable face for the brand.

From online fame to modelling
The response to her AirAsia videos has been largely positive.

While some took the opportunity to critique AirAsia, and commented on the need for airline system improvements.

Zoe’s rise to online fame began when social media trolls mocked her for describing a bag from Singaporean brand Charles & Keith as “luxury.”
In a follow-up video, she called out the snobbery and shared her family’s challenges in making a life in Singapore after moving from the Philippines. Her father, a mechanical engineer, had saved up to buy the bag for her as a birthday gift.
