Remember how TasteAtlas stirred controversy among Malaysians by ranking Malaysian cuisine and bak kut teh rather low on its list?
This time they’re back with another list, but one that’s definitely guaranteed to put a smile on every Malaysian’s face.
Roti canai crowned #1
In a list titled ’50 Best Street Foods’ released by the international food and lifestyle website on Wednesday (Sept 28), it placed the beloved roti canai at the top spot, followed by lumpiang Shanghai (the Philippines) and karaage (Japan).

TasteAtlas has incurred the wrath of Malaysians several times in the past with its rankings, such as calling durians, mooncakes, and char kuey teow as “Malaysia’s worst rated foods” as well as rating nasi lemak as “OK” with 3.9 stars.
