A Chinese man who witnessed the recent flight drama involving a disruptive passenger has come forward to share his account, claiming the incident caused significant delays and affected other travellers.
According to him, the situation led to a delay of over an hour, which ultimately caused him to miss his connecting flight to the Maldives.
Posting on Xiaohongshu, the man criticised the woman’s behaviour, saying it should not be seen as defending one’s rights.
Instead, he described it as a form of “overbearing entitlement”.
Considered stepping in but held back
The man said he had considered stepping in to stop the situation several times, but hesitated as he felt conflicted and unsure if it would escalate further.

He added that people who are emotionally overwhelmed are often difficult to reason with, and intervening might have worsened the situation.
The man also addressed online discussions that attempted to frame the incident as a conflict between China and Malaysia.
According to him, the issue had nothing to do with nationality, but rather with individual behaviour.
He also highlighted that English is the standard language used on international flights and questioned whether it would be reasonable to expect cabin crew to speak multiple foreign languages just to accommodate individual passengers.

Claims woman’s behaviour disrupted flight operations
According to the man, the woman repeatedly raised her voice, threatened crew members and disrupted the aircraft while it was taxiing.
He said such actions showed a lack of professionalism expected of a passenger on a commercial flight.
“Regardless of her intentions, she could face consequences such as compensation claims for fuel costs, ground handling fees and flight delays. She also risks getting herself blacklisted from future flights.”
The man ended by urging netizens not to escalate the matter into a national issue, stressing that it was ultimately a matter of personal conduct, not a reflection of any country.
