While most of us can appreciate recyclable straws for their contribution to the environment, we all know the frustration when they get soggy too quickly, leaving us unable to enjoy our coffee at a leisurely pace.
After promising a better straw since this May, the long-awaited, expected-to-be anti-soggy straw is finally here, and it is still eco-friendly.
No more lembik straws!
Yesterday (Nov 18), ZUS Coffee announced the launch of their new straws through a video on social media.
“We heard you loud and clear—no more lembik straws!” the video caption boldly declared.
According to the announcement, ZUS Coffee will replace their rice straws with Lyfecycle straws. These innovative straws decompose naturally within two years—an impressive 200 times faster than the 200 years it takes for plastic straws to break down.
Netizens’ reaction
Most netizens are excited to say goodbye to the old soggy straws and can’t wait to try the new ones.
However, some have shared that they will miss the old straws.
Some also question if they are still edible.
