For Muslim women, it’s necessary for them to wear a head covering (hijab) and clothes that allows them to ‘tutup aurat’ and not show too much skin to other people.
In Kelantan, authorities went as far as to erect a billboard at a major intersection which was aimed in reminding Muslim women to cover up whenever possible.
In a photo posted on Reddit, two women were seen wrapping up a dead body, where one of them said the deceased had finally covered her ‘aurat’, while the other recalled how the deceased used to say how no one could “force her to cover up”.

In the comment section, netizens were hugely critical of the billboard and told authorities to focus on more pressing issues such as rape, corruption, and drug abuse.
Others also questioned why authorities were so keen on making women cover their ‘aurat’ as this was a matter between them and God.
