‘How is this a serious issue?’ Netizens question the need for ‘tutup aurat’ billboard in Kelantan

Good move or plain bossiness?

For Muslim women, it’s necessary for them to wear a head covering (hijab) and clothes that allows them to ‘tutup aurat’ and not show too much skin to other people.

In Kelantan, authorities went as far as to erect a billboard at a major intersection which was aimed in reminding Muslim women to cover up whenever possible.

‘We have more serious issues to deal with!’

In the comment section, netizens were hugely critical of the billboard and told authorities to focus on more pressing issues such as rape, corruption, and drug abuse.

Others also questioned why authorities were so keen on making women cover their ‘aurat’ as this was a matter between them and God.
