1MDB Case Hearing Delayed After Najib Suffers Diarrhoea Yet Again

Second time.
Ever since former prime minister Najib Razak was sentenced to prison for misappropriating RM42 million in SRC International funds, he has not only been battling legal issues, but health issues as well.

This comes after a bout of diarrhoea forced legal proceedings to come to an abrupt end and bring about another delay to an ongoing trial concerning Najib’s alleged money laundering and abuse of power in the 1MDB case.

Najib suffers diarrhoea for the 2nd time

According to Harian Metro, the High Court was informed by a medical officer of the Kajang Prison Clinic named Dr. Mohd Hafiz Mohd Hoshni that Najib had complained of stomach discomfort and rushed to the toilet three times.

When asked by Judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah whether Najib would be fit to participate in the trial, Dr. Mohd Hafiz said he had prescribed some medication which might cause drowsiness, adding that Najib should rest for at least two days.

Najib appears to be rather weak, tired, and dehydrated. I’ve prescribed him buscopan, lomotil, and oral rehydration salts,” he said, adding that the former premier had low blood pressure too.

As a result, Judge Sequerah ordered for the proceedings to be postponed but insisted that Najib turn up for trial today (Mar 3). He also requested Dr. Mohd Hafiz to give Najib a medical certificate.

This is the second time Najib has suffered from diarrhoea, where the first instance was back in May of last year.
