With life slowly returning to a sense of normalcy after two long years of circuit breakers (CB), many Singaporeans have begun to spend time with their family at various tourist spots, including the Singapore Zoo.
Save me, son!
This time around however, it wasn’t the animals who were the star of the zoo, but a mother-and-son duo.
A TikTok user recently shared a hilarious video of the pair at the Splash Safari Show, where netizens were tickled by the mother’s reaction during a splashing performance courtesy of a sea lion.
In the video, a trainer is seen giving the sea lion instructions and the creature responds by splashing water towards the audience with its flippers.
Instead of enjoying the free “shower”, the mother ducks behind her young son and uses him as an umbrella to protect herself from the relentless splashes.
As for her son, he seemed to be enjoying himself as he kicked wildly in midair and wiped the water off his face.

What made the clip all the more amusing was the fact that the duo were seated right in front of the splash zone where they were expected to get wet during the show.
‘World’s most expensive umbrella’
The video has since been watched for more than 150k times, with many rolling with laughter over the mother’s reaction.
One joked that it was the ‘world’s most expensive umbrella’.
Another netizen wrote, ‘That’s the best gives from a mother! Fun!”
However, some felt that the child was not having fun as most people assumed.
This then invited a sharp response from another netizen, who said the child clearly loves water and that his mother would clean him up afterwards. He also advised others not to jump into conclusions too quickly.
