The couple, residents of Bahau, Negeri Sembilan were enjoying their morning together when tragedy abruptly struck.

A 70-year-old driver, reportedly having mistaken the accelerator for the brake, rammed his vehicle into the kopitiam, causing severe damage and chaos. While Mrs. Tan was fatally injured, Mr. Tan, who has limited mobility, narrowly escaped with his life.

Jempol District Police Chief Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook confirmed that the driver involved in the incident has been taken into custody for investigation. The police are currently investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the 1987 Road Traffic Act, focusing on reckless or dangerous driving.
