A routine morning tea outing turned into a tragic episode for an elderly Malaysian couple when a car unexpectedly plowed into the kopitiam (a traditional coffee shop) they were dining in.
This catastrophic crash claimed the life of 76-year-old Tan Yok Lan(transliteration) and inflicted deep shock and grief upon her husband, 82-year-old Tan Ai Ming(transliteration).
The couple, residents of Bahau, Negeri Sembilan were enjoying their morning together when tragedy abruptly struck.
A 70-year-old driver, reportedly having mistaken the accelerator for the brake, rammed his vehicle into the kopitiam, causing severe damage and chaos. While Mrs. Tan was fatally injured, Mr. Tan, who has limited mobility, narrowly escaped with his life.
