Just two days ago, a woman ploughed her car into a kopitiam at Cheras in the morning after she stepped on the gas pedal by mistake, where it led to two people getting injured and left complete chaos behind.
And it seems that such incidents were bound to happen again, where it took place at a different location and had a far worse outcome.
70yo M’sian man crashes car into kopitiam in Negri Sembilan
According to China Press, the crash took place at a kopitiam located in Bahau, Negri Sembilan, at around 8am today (Nov 24), where a car driven by a 70-year-old man crashed right into the premise and several customers.
As a result of the crash, one woman was killed while another woman was injured and sent to the hospital for treatment.
The woman who lost her life to the accident was later identified as 76-year-old Chen Rulan (transliteration), who was having breakfast with her 82-year-old husband Chen Aiming.
Although no official explanation has been given for the crash, it is believed to have been caused by the driver stepping on the accelerator by mistake, sending the car full force into the kopitiam.
Our condolences to the victim’s family for their loss and we hope elderly drivers will be more careful when out on the road.
