Eight reckless teenagers, staging ‘Superman’ stunt on their motorcycles on public roads, were arrested and fined as a part of “OP Samseng Jalanan”, a major police operation.

The operation was carried out from 11 pm yesterday(8 July) until 4 am today by a team of seven officials and 91 police officers, led by Sarifudin Mohd Salleh, the Assistant Director of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department.
They patrolled the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway(AKLEH) and the Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE) to crack down on street hooliganism.
Among those arrested, the young motorcyclists, aged between 17 to 21, were caught performing reckless maneuvers, including attempting to imitate the flight pose of Superman while riding their motorcycles at high speeds.
Young man expresses regret
“They were arrested for violating the 1987 Road Transport Act 42 (1) (Reckless Driving) and the 1955 Minor Offences Act 29 (1),” stated Sharifuddin.
Moreover, photographs provided by the police illustrated the dangerous driving of these eight individuals, as they dangerously sped down the highway performing daring stunts on their motorcycles.
According to Sinar Harian, among the arrested, a 17-year-old student was apprehended at about 3 am while returning home to Sentul after dining with about ten friends in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur.
He claimed he and his friends had tried to perform the ‘Superman’ stunt as they returned home after their meal.

The young man expressed regret for his actions and admitted that he was worried about his mother’s reaction.
“Please help me. I need to return to the dormitory tomorrow. My mother doesn’t know I went out; I only told my elder brother,” he said.
