M’sian Restaurant Slams 2 Men Who Posed As Owner’s Friends & Ate Without Paying

The audacity.
Nowadays, people resort to many tricks to scam or deceive others, and here’s another example.

A restaurant in Subang found itself the target of a rather audacious dine-and-dash recently, when two individuals allegedly posed as friends of the owner, enjoyed a meal with a bucket of beer, and promptly left without settling their bill.

The restaurant, not one to let such antics slide, took to their Facebook page today (July 17) to share the incident.

Reportedly, this incident occurred during yesterday’s lunch hour (July 16), when two customers allegedly indulged in a beer bucket and curry mee at the restaurant.

They then claimed they knew the restaurant owner well before leaving without paying for their meal.

“The owner doesn’t recall meeting you”

However, the restaurant clarified that the owner had no recollection of ever meeting them.

Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, a representative of the restaurant disclosed that they lost RM82.65 because of these two customers.

They admitted that their staff made an error by not further questioning the customers, as the diners claimed to know the boss and stated they would settle the payment directly with him.

“They were making friendly conversation, shaking hands, and then left the place,” the representative explained, noting how the incident unfolded.

This is the first time the restaurant has encountered such an incident.

In a light-hearted yet firm tone, the restaurant’s Facebook post also reminded customers that they extend support to those genuinely in need with complimentary meals.

However, deceitful acts like dine-and-dash are unequivocally condemned.

The post concluded with a call to the community: “If anyone recognises these freeloaders, please let us know. Thanks for helping us keep the cheaters out!”
