For those who work outside of their hometowns, finding a place to rent can sometimes be a huge headache, especially when one meets an inconsiderate and stingy landlord.
Netizens were left reeling with shock after a landlord was only willing to rent out a small space along with a single bed to a potential tenant for a hefty price, sparking outrage online.
M’sian landlord rents out living area with just a bed for RM170
In a photo shared by Mat Dan on May 16 on Facebook, it showed a WhatsApp conversation he had with a landlord, where he asked how much rent was going to cost should he choose to stay there.
To his shock, the landlord sent him a photo of a bed placed at the living room and told him that the rent was RM170.
Although he could hardly believe his eyes, Mat Dan asked the landlord whether it was a single room just to make sure he and the landlord were on the same page.
However, the landlord doubled down and confirmed that Mat Dan was going to have to stay at the living room.
When asked whether he was interested, Mat Dan replied sarcastically: “I hope you get rich soon, boss.” Oooh, savage.
Netizens outraged
Needless to say, netizens weren’t pleased with the landlord’s selfish behavior and criticised him in the comment section.
One wrote: ‘I actually like sleeping at the living room but not like this. There’s no privacy at all!’
Another jokingly commented: ‘Not sure whether you should rest or become security (guard).’
