M’sian Fresh Grad From UUM Lands Job At International Company In S’pore And Rakes In Monthly Income Of RM11K 

Wei Jie attributed her success not only to her own hard work but also to the support of her family, lecturers, and friends.

Wong Wei Jie, a graduate of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) who recently finished her studies, is now earning a generous monthly salary of RM11,000 after being hired by a Denmark-based international company located in Singapore.

According to Utusan Malaysia, The Selangor-born graduate holds the position of ‘Global Management Trainee’ in the company after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Logistics and Transportation) at UUM with a GPA of 3.84.

“In the professional world, it’s quite different from university life, especially in terms of building relationships with other staff and inter-departmental networking.

Knowledge remains paramount in any job, and the skills and experience learned can shape a bright future,” she said in an interview with the Malay daily.

Wei Jie attributed her success not only to her own hard work but also to the support of her family, lecturers, and friends.

She also highlighted that UUM emphasizes both academic excellence and co-curricular activities.

“My involvement in co-curricular activities taught me to be more independent and organized, especially in terms of time management.

“Only when you excel academically and engage in a robust set of co-curricular activities, can you truly experience the joys of being a student and gain as much exposure as possible,” she said.

Wei Jie is also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) UUM Chapter Cohort 4 and was honored as the top student at the CILT Malaysia 2022 Convocation Ceremony.

The UUM’s graduate employability (GE) rate in 2022 stood at 94.4 percent, a significant 10 percent increase compared to 2021. This indicates that most UUM graduates who attended the 35th convocation are now gainfully employed.
