Mohd Fadli Salleh: ‘I left because I care’

In a separate Facebook post, Mohd Fadli shed more light behind his decision to opt for an early retirement.

“For the sake of clarification, I chose to retire early not because I’m disappointed with the Ministry of Education (MOE). I did so simply because I care too much for MOE.

You can’t do whatever you want when you’re in someone else’s home. And I didn’t want to be a rude guest. So out of respect for the host (MOE), it is best that I leave.

Despite his exit from the teaching circle, Mohd Fadli said he will continue to be involved in the education sector and voice out on related issues.

He also thanked the MOE staff for everything they had done for him and asked for forgiveness for past wrongs.

Was threatened with job loss

Back in 2022, Mohd Fadli came into the limelight after he voiced concern over several issues that he observed in his students such as heavy school bags, an overload in school subjects, and a syllabus that proved to be too hard for students to learn.

As a result, he was accused of violating the code of conduct and was threatened with the possibility of either getting demoted or losing his job.

Thankfully, none of these happened to him after the Education Services Disciplinary Board found that he didn’t break any rules by speaking up.
