On Thursday (Aug 27), residents at a Desa ParkCity condominium woke up to horrifying news of a entire family losing their lives on the same day, with a man allegedly falling to his death, while his wife and two kids were found dead inside the house.
Following the tragedy, police found a suicide note written by the male victim, who expressed shame and regret over a love scam that robbed his wife of RM260,000.
Family knew of love scam
In a latest update by Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus, he said the family of the victims were aware of the love scam.
On top of that, they also knew of an illegal investment scam which duped the victims as well, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Following this revelation, police are now conducting an in-depth investigation into the love scam allegation made by the male victim in his suicide note.
Reporters who were at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), spotted several family members of the victims arriving to claim the bodies and take them home.
The victims were identified as 48-year-old Liu Minghui, 47-year-old Li Shanyi, 9-year-old Liu Meiying, and 7-year-old Liu Junshen (all transliterations).

Autopsy results
Meanwhile, Fadli said autopsy results showed that Li suffered sharp force injuries to the neck and chest, while the two children died from stab wounds to the neck, reported NST.
As for Liu, results showed that he sustained injuries consistent with a fall from a height.
Police are currently investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and sudden death.
