KLANG – An illegal moneylender (Ah Long) was slashed to death in front of a coffee shop at Lorong Batu Nilam 27 A, Bandar Bukit Tinggi 2 last Saturday (Nov 6) after having lunch with his sons, reported The Star.
South Klang police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said the victim was attacked by three men armed with machetes while walking back to his car.
“The victim tried fleeing from them but later collapsed and died in front of a nearby restaurant.
“His sons, aged 10 and 18, escaped the attack with no injuries,” he said.
Shamsul Amar added that the victim had seven criminal records.
Police have since arrested six suspects in Klang and Banting to assist the investigation, where their remand order is expected to be extended today.
The suspects were aged between 27 and 54 and police believe that jealousy was the main motive for the gruesome murder.
