KUALA SELANGOR – A 67-year-old woman who was believed to have driven against traffic collided with a delivery rider yesterday morning, resulting in his demise.
However, what made it all the more horrifying was that the woman continued to drive on for 2km, not knowing that the rider’s corpse was still on her car roof.
Woman in deep shock following collision
Police told China Press that the victim was a 26-year-old who was on his way to Pulau Indah for sightseeing before the tragedy occurred.
“The woman, who was driving a Proton Saga, suddenly drove into an intersection and the rider couldn’t brake in time, resulting in a collision.
“After the accident, the woman was deeply shaken by it and fled the scene and didn’t realise that she had actually rammed into the victim.
“It wasn’t until a few members of the public informed her about it did she realise the full gravity of the situation,” they said.
The victim’s body was later sent to the Tanjung Karang Hospital for an autopsy while the elderly woman suffered light injuries to her waist.
The case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless and dangerous driving.
Stay safe and drive carefully everyone!
