1. Mass Hysteria Engulfs Malaysian School: A Teenager’s Harrowing Account
It was an ordinary Friday morning in July at a north-east Malaysian school when chaos suddenly erupted.
At the center of the turmoil was 17-year-old Siti Nurannisaa, who shared her harrowing experience of the unanticipated pandemonium.
Siti recalls sitting at her desk, battling drowsiness, when she felt a forceful, pointed tap on her shoulder. As she turned to identify the source, her surroundings were plunged into darkness.
Fear engulfed her, accompanied by a piercing pain in her back and a dizzying sensation in her head. She collapsed to the floor.
In her semi-conscious state, Siti found herself peering into a nightmarish realm filled with bloodshed, brutality, and terror. The most frightening vision she encountered was an apparition with a visage of pure malevolence.
Although she attempted to scream, no sound emerged from her throat. Overwhelmed, she lost consciousness.
The tumult triggered by Siti’s outburst initiated a potent chain reaction throughout the school. Within moments, students in neighboring classrooms began shrieking in terror, their anguished cries echoing through the corridors.
Another girl even fainted, insisting she had also witnessed the same sinister figure.
At the Ketereh National Secondary School (SMK Ketereh) in Kelantan, panic spread rapidly as classroom doors were slammed shut, with teachers and students alike barricading themselves inside.
Islamic spiritual healers were summoned to conduct mass prayer sessions in an effort to restore calm.
By the day’s end, 39 individuals were deemed to have been affected by the inexplicable phenomenon of mass hysteria that had swept through the school.
2. Tragic Death of A Malaysian Toddler: Suspected Exorcism Gone Wrong
On August 5th 2012, police were alerted about the tragic death of a 3-year-old girl who fell victim to a suspected exorcism ritual carried out by her family members in Penang.
The family believed that the young girl was possessed by evil spirits and took it upon themselves to perform the ritual to rid her of the malevolent entities.
During that fateful day’s late evening, police received a distress call from a concerned family member, which prompted them to conduct a raid on the house located in northern Penang state.
Upon arrival, district police chief Azman Abdul Lah described the harrowing scene: a group of eight people, including the girl’s parents, grandmother, uncle, aunt, two cousins, and their Indonesian maid, were found lying on top of the girl in a dimly-lit bedroom.
The young victim was lying face down beneath the weight of the human pile. She was believed to have been lying underneath the adults’ collective weight for the past 20 hours.
As the police entered the room, they could hear chanting coming from underneath a blanket that covered the group. Unfortunately, the 3-year-old girl succumbed to suffocation as a result of the ritual.
Azman Abdul Lah confirmed that all eight individuals involved in the incident have been taken into custody.
This devastating event underscores the dangers and consequences of unregulated religious or spiritual practices. It serves as a stark reminder that education and awareness around such practices are vital in preventing similar tragedies from occurring.
3. Malaysian Cousins Sentenced to 10 Years Each for Murdering Parents During Ritual to Expel Evil Spirits
On January 25th 2010, two Malaysian cousins were jailed for 10 years each for beating the parents of one of them to death during a ritual to expel evil spirits.
The men used brooms and motorcycle helmets to attack the couple in 2008, aiming to cure them of their smoking habit and other problems.
They were acting on a third man’s advice, who said he had magical powers and could raise the dead.
A government-appointed psychiatrist provided testimony indicating that Ilyas suffered from mental instability and was diagnosed with bipolar mood disorder.
The court in Kuala Lumpur heard how Muhammad Fauzi Abdul Razak, now 36, and Muhammad Nizam Mohd Ibrahim, 34, beat the latter’s parents at a family gathering in October 2008.
They had said they were acting on the advice of Muhammad Fauzi’s brother, Muhammad Ilyas Abdul Razak, who testified in court that he had been given powers by the leader of a banned cult, enabling him to cure illnesses and raise the dead.
Muhammad Ilyas, now 38, testified in court that he had received these extraordinary abilities from the leader of a prohibited cult. He further stated that he had performed a ritual on his uncle and aunt, during which he physically assaulted them, in order to purge them of malevolent spirits that posed a threat to the family.
The parents were expected to be revived later on but had been too severely beaten. Several other family members, including a child, were also injured.
High Court judicial commissioner Azman Abdullah said the convicted men had been duped by the superstitious beliefs of Muhammad Ilyas and had “failed to use their reasonable judgement”, Malaysia’s Star newspaper reported.
He said they had acted in “ignorance and blind faith” in carrying out the attack, which he described as “beyond imagination”. The two men were both sentenced to 10 years for each of the murders, with the sentences to run concurrently.
4. A Terrifying Encounter: College Student Overcomes Possession on Campus
Mariam, an 18-year-old college freshman, faced an extraordinary and terrifying ordeal during her first day of orientation. The day had ended late, and Mariam was walking back to the dorms with her fellow freshmen when they came across an unconscious girl lying on the ground.
At that moment, Mariam’s body froze, rendering her immobile from head to toe. Panic ensued among her friends, and a senior who happened to be nearby quickly left to seek assistance from a facilitator.
Since they were all Muslim, the facilitator advised Mariam to recite her prayers in hopes of regaining control over her body. However, even after praying, she remained paralyzed. Concerned for her well-being, a car was arranged to rush Mariam to the campus mosque.
Upon arriving at the mosque, it became evident that Mariam wasn’t alone in her experience; several other students were also grappling with similar inexplicable paralysis.
Suddenly, Mariam fell to the ground, feeling an overwhelming presence inside her as if a malevolent entity had taken control of her body. The spirit within her began to scream, declaring, “Budak ini aku punya (This kid is mine).”
Mariam felt utterly helpless as she lost control over her body, thrashing around so violently that it took ten grown men to restrain her. She could hear the preacher arguing with the spirit possessing her, firmly stating, “No, this child is not yours.”
After the terrifying ordeal, Mariam was carried back to her dorm, where a senior stayed with her overnight to ensure she was not left alone. Fortunately, Mariam recovered from the harrowing experience, and the spirit was successfully driven out of her.
It is an encounter she would never wish to relive, serving as a chilling reminder of the unseen forces that can sometimes invade our lives.
