For most food delivery platforms in Malaysia, customers are usually offered different payment methods such as credit card, online banking, or cash on delivery (COD) to make it more convenient for them to pay for their meals.
However, one inconsiderate customer in Johor Bahru decided to abuse the COD service to skip out on paying for his order.
In a TikTok video by user @Sokcantikkau, a food delivery rider was unable to find the customer who had made a RM100 order and vanished after taking the food.
Unaware of the customer’s unscrupulous tactic, the rider contacted the customer to get the payment but waited in vain for several hours.
The delivery guy is very pitiful, he has been trying to contact the customer for hours and still can’t get in touch,” wrote @Sokcantikkau

Upon sensing that he was robbed of the payment, the rider then went from door-to-door on his motorcycle to locate the customer but it is unclear whether he succeeded in doing so.
According to China Press, the incident had reportedly taken place in Johor Bahru.
The video has since garnered over 800k views at the time of writing, with many netizens slamming the customer for taking advantage of the rider.
Many also offered to pay the rider what he was owed on the customer’s behalf.
One netizen wrote, “As a Foodpanda rider, only we would know how hard it is to earn RM100.”
Another who worked as a food delivery rider also advised the rider to always get the payment first before passing the order.
Another suggested that the rider make the customer transfer the payment there and then in order to avoid getting scammed.
