A Chinese national who allegedly went on a random stabbing spree following a traffic accident in Kajang has been formally charged in court this morning (Aug 20).
The 24-year-old woman, who had been under police custody since the incident, was escorted by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department to the Kajang Court at around 9.25am.
Court appearance
Reporters at the scene observed the woman dressed in an orange shirt and blue jeans. She arrived under tight security, flanked by a female police officer and several male officers.
Her face appeared visibly swollen with bruises around her eyes, but she did not attempt to avoid cameras as photographers captured her arrival.

Incident recap
The shocking incident took place on Aug 13. According to police, the woman had been driving in Kajang when she struck a motorcyclist. Immediately after the crash, she allegedly exited her vehicle armed with a knife and began attacking people nearby.
She then entered a shopping mall in Kajang, where she continued her rampage, randomly stabbing and injuring several bystanders. In total, six individuals were hurt in the attack.
Police statement & charges
Kajang District Police Chief ACP Mohd Zaid Hassan confirmed in a statement last night that the suspect would be charged today.
Investigators have classified the case under Section 279 of the Penal Code for reckless driving, Section 307 for attempted murder, and Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
If convicted, the woman faces severe penalties, including a long prison sentence.
