Police have revealed that the 24-year-old woman arrested for ramming into motorcyclists and attacking a passerby with a knife near a Kajang shopping mall yesterday (Aug 13) is an international student at a local public university.
The information was revealed today by Kajang police in a statement on their Facebook account.
The incident
Yesterday at about 11.58am near a Kajang shopping mall, the suspect allegedly sped her car into three motorcycles waiting at a red light before getting out and attacking a bystander with a knife.

Members of the public quickly intervened, disarming and detaining her until police arrived. Six Malaysians aged between 21 and 60 were injured in the incident, with two hospitalised and four treated as outpatients.
Police are still investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack.
Acted out due to personal stress
Kajang police chief Naazron Yusof said that initial investigations suggest the suspect acted out due to immense personal stress.
She was reportedly dissatisfied with her experiences living and studying in Malaysia, although she did not disclose the exact incidents that led to her frustration.
Based on observations, she was clearly under emotional pressure due to personal issues.
“However, the root cause of these problems is still under investigation,” he said, adding that there is no record of the suspect receiving psychiatric treatment or suffering from depression.
Police have obtained a seven-day remand order until August 20 to facilitate investigations. So far, statements have been taken from 11 witnesses, including the victims.
Two of the injured remain hospitalised but are reported to be in stable condition.
