A woman’s body was allegedly brought to a palm oil plantation and set on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.

According to China Press, the body was not completely destroyed by the fire and emitted a thick layer of smoke, which alerted local residents of the horrific crime.

The incident was uncovered at approximately 7am yesterday (May 23) near a palm oil plantation in Kampung Sungai Lembing, Selangor.
Sabak Bernam district police chief Superintendent Agus Salim Mohd Alias confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing.
Victim yet to be identified
However, the victim has yet to be identified and police are urging those who noticed a family member or someone they know who has gone missing recently to lodge a report at the nearest police station.
Agus Salim cautioned the public not to speculate on the case and called on those with further information to head over to the Sabak Bernam district police headquarters to assist in investigations.
