A disturbing incident at a resort in Genting Highlands resulted in the unfortunate death of a 67-year-old senior citizen has recently made rounds on the internet.

According to NST, the victim was discovered lying on the ground with injuries to the mouth, eyes, and face at approximately 5:40 pm yesterday (27 July).
Following the distressing event, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar, the district police chief revealed that a 38-year-old suspect was arrested near the resort a few hours later to aid in the ongoing investigations.
What happened
The sequence of events leading to the unfortunate incident began with a quarrel between the victim and the suspect at the hotel lobby.

Closed-circuit television footage(CCTV) from the area revealed that the two individuals then moved towards the parking lot, where they engaged in another altercation.
As the investigations unfolded, it became apparent that the fatal fight had arisen due to a misunderstanding and dissatisfaction over a hotel room.
What started as a simple disagreement tragically escalated into violence, resulting in the senior citizen’s untimely demise.
It is also understood that the suspect had a history of previous criminal records.
Police investigating
The case is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The victim’s body has also been transferred to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan for a post-mortem examination.
