KEMAMAN – A Form 2 student of a secondary school in Kemaman, Terengganu sustained serious injuries after falling from a 10-metre high pedestrian bridge.
According to Utusan Malaysia, the incident happened on Monday (May 30) at around 7.30 am, where the student had just finished Yasin recital and was making her way to another academic block across the road.
Kemaman district police chief Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan said that the bridge was used by the students as it connects the two academic blocks.
“Upon receiving a report over the incident, an officer was dispatched to the scene and rushed the victim to Kemaman Hospital’s emergency unit,” he said.
Harian Metro reported that the student was believed to have fractured parts of her pelvis and is currently undergoing treatment.
Hanyan also advised the public not to speculate on the incident as authorities are working to uncover the cause of the accident.
